Walking With Family – Institute for Urban Indigenous Health
When the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health wanted to highlight the power of family connections in rural Indigenous communities, they turned to us for help. Local medical practices and support networks needed a way to show that raising children for the future is a shared responsibility, best supported when the whole family is involved.
Our Role
We were tasked with capturing the importance of family bonds in a way that resonated deeply with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The challenge? Tackling a sensitive topic with authenticity and care while helping local organisations engage their audiences effectively.
Creative Solution
We leaned into one of the simplest and most joyful childhood memories — playing together as a family. Using this as a foundation, we created a series of animations that showcased togetherness and fun. Every detail, from cultural apparel to environments, was thoughtfully designed to reflect both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures authentically. The goal? Make the message relatable, respectful, and true to life.
Outcome
The campaign took off, with the animations finding a home on social media and Aboriginal Health Television (AHTV). We didn’t stop there — static images from the series were also provided for print, extending the reach of this heartfelt message. The result? A campaign that left a lasting impression and brought communities closer together.
