Rules For Riders
Queensland Government – TMR
When the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) needed videos that were both informative and engaging, they called on us to make it happen. These videos aimed to raise awareness on key safety topics, including electric scooter usage, road safety for drivers, and pedestrian mindfulness. They weren’t just for fun (though they’re fun too!) — they had to align with TMR’s trusted brand while keeping audiences interested across office screens statewide and the TMR website.
Our Role
RUCKUS took the reins to create an initial series of three animations, each just over a minute in duration. We dreamt up 10 unique characters and built multiple environments to deliver TMR’s key messages. The mission? Make it visually engaging, cost-efficient, and flexible enough to update easily down the track. Challenge accepted.
Creative Solution
We elevated the style while staying true to TMR’s brand. The result? A fresh, playful design style that kept viewers hooked without losing the message. Our animations weren’t just eye candy — they were designed to adapt and evolve. Each character and environment was crafted with care to balance relatability with clarity, delivering information in a way that felt approachable and clear.
Outcome
The verdict? Rave reviews. The initial animations hit the mark with their blend of clarity, creativity, and brand alignment. TMR was so thrilled they asked for additional animations to cover even more topics. Thanks to our adaptable design, these projects continue to deliver long-term value, proving that good design can be both impactful and budget-friendly.
